Welcome...
Behold a new era of BoDeans magic. A new CD, a new website...what could be next? Don't wait around for BoDeans bobble-head dolls...it ain't gonna happen.
That being said...Welcome to the premiere issue of the BoDeans online newsletter! 2003 promises to be a revitalizing year for the boys from Waukesha. With Summerfest just around the corner, and many more shows to be announced, the secret will no longer be hidden from those looking for a good time. We hope you enjoy the newsletter—along with everything else coming down the pike—and we look forward to seeing you out at the shows this summer.
Summerfest - July 3, 2003!
Tickets are still available through the BoDeans fan club for the annual show at the Marcus Amphitheater at Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 3rd. Guster, a mighty fine band from Boston, will be starting the evening off. For those of you unfamiliar with this event, Summerfest is Milwaukee's premiere music festival—and one of this country's largest. Held on the Summerfest Grounds along Lake Michigan, this 11-day festival offers 13 stages of music, and nightly events at the 24,000-seat Marcus Amphitheater. Your beloved BoDeans will be once again rocking this amphitheater, in what will prove to be the greatest show in their history of sold-out performances on this stage. Please be sure to check out the merchandise tent at the Amphitheater, which will contain many new and exciting items, including a limited-edition 5-song EP of new BoDeans material (how's about that for proof of an upcoming full length release?). The Summerfest show will be the first time this EP is made available, and due to it's limited supply, it may be the last...
What the heck is that noise...?
So you've found the new web site. And if you were at work, and had the volume up, you probably got some strange looks from your cubicle-mates. Well, sorry for the static (that's from the AM frequency, for all you digital-era youngsters), but we figured it would be a good way to give you a preview of the new CD. The songs you're hearing (as of this publication) are "Live" (rhymes with "give," not "dive" or "hive"), "Sleep," "Slipping Into You" and "Heaven." These tunes (all of them) plus 10 more, will be on the upcoming CD, to be released later this summer. More clips will be added to the site, so please check back as often as you can!
Michael is Back!
That's right, ladies and gentlemen (but mostly for the ladies), Michael Ramos will be performing keyboards and accordion with the BoDeans this summer. After a number of years away from the group, working with John Mellencamp, Patty Griffin, and many other top-notch artists, Michael has been lured back to his BoDeans roots. Please give him a warm welcome back, and help us ensure that he doesn't stray off again.
