I like the new look of your website and your interaction with the fans on FB.
I seen you all live 4 or 5 times, front row (if you call standing by the railing front row) twice. Of cource all of the times I lost my voice from singing along with you all and the crowd. Hope you make it make it back to Virginia Beach or Norfolk in 2012.
I am going to miss Sammy, but as with life time changes things. I wish the new BoDeans much success.

    Sail Away, Bob

I absolutely agree that Kurt and Sammy’s voices together compliment each other perfectly make an incredible blend. It is really sad to see the end of an era but life goes on. I just saw the 11/1 show in Annapolis last night. Kurt and the band rocked the house. It was a fantastic show. So good in fact, that I may travel to Virginia for Saturday’s show. Kurt is still rocking on and, with or without Sammy, the BoDeans are still “Blowin’ My Mind”!

      Thanks Kurt “BoDean”!

    Guys,

We’re long-time and very big fans and were at the concert in Madison last night. Its always been great to see/hear you guys play; but, the empty microphone and sad references to missing band member were just really insipid and a huge detraction/distraction from the music. It sucked a lot of energy out of the theater. We think you should decide if you want to tour playing rock n roll or have a wake. If its the latter, you should stay home.

What a fantastic redesign! I read that Kurt said “There is a New Energy” and this website represents that. Glad to see there will be no more looking back. The history is rich but the road forward is open to so many possibilities, Not to mention great danceable music!!!! The Bodeans have been and will continue to be my favorite band of all time. Just keep up the “GOOD WORK!”

The microphone on stage is for Michael Ramos who is singing harmony on some songs. That is the only purpose of the microphone on stage.

i would like to take a moment to thank the BoDeans (past, present & future) for all the wonderful music. i first saw you when you opened for U2 11-07-1987 and have cherished your folks music every moment since. It was, is & always will be an honor to say “i at one time built stage (localsrew) & did photowork for the BoDeans”!!!!!!!!!!

Admin, do you think Kurt and the band would ever consider singing “Amen” the demo that was re-released on Love and Hope and Sex and Dreams, live in concert sometime? I really love that song!!! Could you pass this on to them for me please?

Behind the times and just found out today that Sammy left. Totally bummed. I have seen the bodeans like 10 times now live shows and trio shows. I always got the feeling that Sammy had that side to him. The bodeans wont be the same because those two voices when put together is the best sounding duo known to man. When they played “Only Love” acoustically it blew my mind how good they sound together We all saw how great sammy can do riding solo. good luck buddy. I can tell what is probably more sammy influenced for example “All the blues to take” is probably the worst bodeans song there is. Im devastated and heartbroken that sammy left, but in all reality kurt is way more talented and is the man of the band. Kinda hard for sammy to solo when he only knows 4 different chords on a guitar. Rock on kurt

Go north great men. After your News Years party in Minneapolis try and jump the border into Winnipeg. The 7 hour trip brings you to the heart of your Canadian fans. Teenage home of greats Neil Young and Randy Bachman. It would be a blast.

Yeah, it’s going to strange without Sammy. Just like with Kurt’s songs, there are songs of Sammy’s that I can’t imagine not hearing in concert with those magical harmony vocals that that compliment each other with. Like goes on, and change is here to stay. I do know that I’m still a BoDeans fan through and through. It will be interesting to see where Kurt takes the band and his music. Long live Sammy! Long Live Kurt! Rock on BoDeans!

Dallas 12.02.11 Confused by the obvious hole but as the night progressed, the hole shrunk. Convinced that noone easily accepts change, I saw the hole significantly close in the 2 hours. Fadeaway is still fantastic. A four-part opera in my opinion. Kurk, new material has real power. Thanks for a great evening.

My total love of this music was renewed seeing Kurt and the boys last week. Loved the old songs and the new stuff both. The energy coming off the stage was contagious – great job guys! How about adding a girl?

Just saw the new dates in colorado. Looks like smaller venues. Should be great. Have seen you guys at the Filmore, The Boulder Theatre, Red Rocks, Breckenridge Beer Festival, Colorado Music Festival, Mile high Music Festival and another dozen or so times in Milwaukee. Always a great time. Have put the date on the calendar.

Just saw the show at symphony center in Chicago-still got it. It was great. Two oncores-you’re the best. I have followed since 1989 and have seen a number of shows-Elmhurst college, Naperville fest, Chicago Theatre and various others. Sammy is missed, but the new stuff is rockin. Kurt-I am sorry for the long time friendship that you may not have or it certainly isn’t the same. I hope you and your band do well. We will keep coming to see you. Come back to Schaumburg when you can.

Any chance you guys could do a small, intimate set (maybe acoustic?) for our 25th Reunion at Marquette University on 7/27 at the Harley Restaurant in Milwaukee? You were a staple at MU and in many a record player back then and we all loved you guys. I am on the planing committee and would love to talk to you guys about this.

    Thanks!
